The challenge
Gift shopping is overwhelming — buyers know the person, not the product. The goal was a platform that turns a few details about the recipient into useful gift suggestions, while earning through affiliate product recommendations. It also had to be built fast, without a traditional CMS or a large development team.
The approach
Build the entire platform with AI-assisted development using Claude: a custom React front end with an AI gifting assistant that asks about the recipient and occasion, then recommends products from an affiliate catalogue. Keep the experience conversational and mobile-first, with clear paths from suggestion to purchase.

Built a conversational flow that collects details about the recipient, occasion, and budget, then suggests matching gift ideas.

Structured product recommendations with affiliate links so each suggestion can lead directly to a purchase on the partner store.
Custom React build
Developed the whole site as a modern React application through AI-assisted coding with Claude — no WordPress, no page builder, full control over design and performance.
Validation
The assistant flow, recommendation pages, and affiliate links were tested across desktop and mobile, and the site was reviewed for load speed and crawl/indexing health after launch.
Outcome & learnings
